A permit is required to hike this trail. The permit fee includes free parking in both the Town of Kanarraville and Sweet Spot parking lots. Bring your permit with you the day of the hike.
HIKE AT YOUR RISK
The ground is rocky and uneven and you will be climbing over boulders and logs, and walking through water much of the time. Go slow, step carefully and use caution at all times!
NOT RECOMMENDED FOR SMALL CHILDREN
Kanarra Falls is considered a family-friendly hike, but it can be difficult and challenging for younger children and is not recommended for anyone with physical limitations.
FLASH FLOOD DANGER
Kanarra Creek is a slot canyon and there is a very real danger from flash flooding and rockslides. Flash floods can occur at any time of year but are most common during thunderstorms in July, August, and September. Always be aware of your escape routes, and watch for rising water levels, stronger currents and sudden changes in water clarity. By entering a narrow canyon or wash, you are assuming a risk.
Do not hike this trail if it is raining or if there is a threat of heavy rain in the area.
Check the local forecast and remember conditions can change quickly; call the National Weather Service at (801) 524-3057.
LIMITED FACILITIES – “GO BEFORE YOU GO”
